I realise it’s not exactly the right time of year to be thinking about Christmas (unless you’re into the ‘Christmas in July’ craze). But this is how long it can sometimes take to get a blog post up here.
Erika had just had her first birthday when Christmas rolled around last year, and she was considerably more mobile and ‘grabby’ than she was the year before. I figured delicate glass tree ornaments and toddlers aren’t a very good mix, so I decided to make some non-breakable crochet stars to brighten our tree.
I found the Jelly Wares tutorial really simple to follow, and whipped up a bunch in no time at all. They’re great for using up your yarn scraps, and they’d also make great gift tags for a personal touch.

These would look fabulous using metallic yarns. Adding sequins or beads would also add some pizzazz to them!
