About

For the Love of George.

A designer, crafter, foodie and mother of two — hello! — my name is Lauren Grande, and For the Love of George is my blog.

I started this blog in 2010 as a creative, crafty outlet and a way to learn and document new skills; there have been a few redesigns and relaunches in the five years since. I am a graphic designer by trade, having spent the majority of my career in the magazine publishing industry.

In 2011, my husband and I welcomed our first beautiful daughter; and in 2014, we were blessed with our second. Our little family lives in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia; just a hop, skip and a jump from Mount Dandenong and the Yarra Valley. We have cool winters (not cold enough for snow) and hot summers (with the odd 40ºC day!). Melbourne has an amazing food, art and design culture, and we feel so lucky to call this awesome city our home.

These days I spend most of my week looking after my munchkins, detangling yo-yo’s from slinky’s, cooking, designing from our home office, and squeezing in the odd crafty project. I find myself wishing I had more time for baking and painting, gardening and veggie patch tending, but am loving this chapter in our lives.
