Yellow, mustard and linen little chickens quilt on For the Love of George

My mate Ali and I have been friends for 18 years. So you can imagine how chuffed I was when she welcomed her beautiful baby girl Piper into the world… seems like just yesterday. Well, it wasn’t yesterday — a couple weeks ago Piper celebrated her first birthday. And in fine style — mum baked an angel cake and everything! (Literally a cake decorated to look like an angel, not an angel food cake…).

Piper is such a happy little cherub, and I can just imagine the adventures her and Ali will get up to in the years ahead. With that in mind, I made Piper a quilt for her birthday. On the card I wrote: “May the enclosed look and feel like a little sunshine on a cold and wintry day”. I thought the warm tones of yellow and mustard perfectly suited her sunny personality. Have fun snugglin’, little one. xo

The main fabric is Chicks by Kokka Fabrics.

Do you a tutorial or pattern for this pretty yellow quilt?
Or just a picture of it laid out – since it looks like mostly
squares, four patches and rectangles, I could probably figure it
out from a picture. I love it!!! thanks, kate

Hmm, good question Kate! I don’t think I do, and now that it lives in another home, I can’t whip it out and measure it up. Next time I visit my lovely friend, I’ll have to remember to do so, because it is just a simple and lovely pattern! I’ll keep you posted :)
